Another whirlwind week, firing on all cylinders...
The AS YOU LIKE IT reading was a blast...such a pleasure to hear the play read by fab actors like Arye Gross and Gregory Itzin. For all the deets, check out my post about it on the Antaeus Company blog.
Spent some time delving into the murky world of web series deals for a piece on CIRCLE OF 8, a new web series debuting in October. For a breakdown of the deal between Paramount Digital Entertainment, Mountain Dew, MySpace and Milchan/Van Eyssen, read the piece on tubefilter.tv.
The IDA's DocuWeeks is in full swing! For three weeks, a series of top non-fiction films play on the rockin' screen at the Arclight as they make their Oscar qualifying runs. Last night I moderated a Q&A with Dan Sturman, one of the directors of the civil rights film SOUNDTRACK FOR A REVOLUTION, where he filled us in on the intricacies of attempting to get John Legend, The Roots, Wyclef Jean and more all in one film. This past Friday, I caught the other music doc in the series, ROCK PROPHECIES, about legendary rock photographer Robert Knight. Blues guitar prodigy Tyler Dow Bryant, who Knight discovers and champions in the film, made a surprise appearance and played for the packed house. Always very cool to see someone with talent like Tyler's in action. You can read my write up of the film & the after-party over on the IDA's News on the Doc blog.
Next aventure: In prep for an IFC News shoot featuring actor Jason Schwartzman. Time for a li'l living room retrospective...love it when my work *requires* me to watch films by the likes of Wes Anderson, David O. Russell and Sofia Coppola.
I suggest adding a "google+" button for the blog!
