Hey there! I'm Tamara Krinsky.
Thanks for making your way to my little corner of cyberspaceland.
I'm an actress, writer, on-air correspondent & interactive media producer.
(Translation: I get bored easily and don't sleep a lot).
My on-camera hosting work feeds my eternal curiosity, as well as my appetite for writing & producing. Red carpets, studio interviews, on location adventures – I love it all! As MARVEL'S red carpet host, I've anchored the livestream broadcasts for some of the biggest movies in the world like Marvel Studios' AVENGERS: ENDGAME, BLACK PANTHER and DR. STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. I co-host TOMORROW'S WORLD TODAY on Discovery/Science Channel, where I travel around the world profiling the latest, greatest technology, science and sustainability efforts. Other hosting adventures include the Oscars & the Emmys for THE RED CARPET REPORT; writing/hosting GIRLS GONE GEEK, a panel show about geek culture from a female perspective; hosting red carpet coverage for the PRODUCERS GUILD AWARDS; and correspondent work for PBS's WIRED SCIENCE.
I’m a classically trained actress and have appeared in numerous theater productions in the L.A. area, including acclaimed productions of PICNIC and CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF at the Antaeus Company, where I'm a company member. I studied improv at iO West and have appeared in comedy shows such as MORTIFIED! and SHOW & TELL (UCB). On-screen appearances include ALL MY CHILDREN, CHARMED, SEVENTH HEAVEN and STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT (yes, I have a playing card, much to my Trekkie father`s delight). For my full resume, click here. You can watch my theatrical reel here. For more on The Antaeus Company, click here.
I'm the co-founder of the SCIRENS, a creative team dedicated to advocating for scientific literacy in the general public and creating science-infused entertainment content. You can follow our sci-enthusiastic adventures here on our website, on Twitter @Scirens, and on Instagram @ScirensOfficial. Our latest project is FLIPPING THE SCRIPT ON CLIMATE, a storytelling event centered around optimistic climate futures. You can watch it here.
My writing spans both narrative work, traditional reporting, and award show writing (how's that for eclectic!). I earned an Emmy Award for writing on the acclaimed Pemberley Digital series EMMA APPROVED, a modern, multiplatform adaptation of Jane Austen's EMMA. My work on the series included transmedia writing and strategy for the show's multiple social platforms, a role I also filled for the Pemberley's FRANKENSTEIN, M.D.
I combine my experience with live events and hosting scripting live awards shows, conferences, and events. Honoree speeches, "witty banter," fundraising appeals, science/medical/tech "explainer" pieces...my talent is working with organizations and individuals to craft evenings and events that are both entertaining and moving. In the COVID19 era, my experience working in interactive media has come in especially handy as many live events have pivoted to virtual or hybrid formats. Clients include Billboard Women in Music, Vanity Fair Oscar Party LIVE!, Institute for Advanced Studies, GLSEN, The SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Disney+/D23, The Trevor Project, City Year Los Angeles, Lambda Legal, Monmouth Medical Center, Outfest Legacy Awards, The Alzheimer's Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters Los Angeles, Point Foundation, and Saint John's Health Center Foundation, among others. More on my live event writing can be found here.
As a print journalist, I have been published in VARIETY, FILMMAKER and THE INDEPENDENT. Online outlets include tubefilter.tv, indieWire, RedCarpetReport.com, and MsInTheBiz.com. I took a deep dive into the world of non-fiction film when serving as Associate Editor of the IDA's DOCUMENTARY magazine, writing stories about everything from director/subject relationships to filmmaker profiles to distribution how-to's.
Behind the scenes, my early involvement in the digital content industry includes working as the New Media Program Manager at the Writers Guild of America, West; and as a Producer at entertainment marketing firm Crew Creative, where I strategized, wrote, hosted, and produced online content for clients such as Discovery Channel, Warner Independent Pictures, iKlipz, and Overture Films. I got my start in the entertainment industry working extensively with film festivals as a programmer and event producer, and am a proud graduate of Northwestern University.
